The Iraqi's Step Up

I heard a story today
About the Al Hilla SWAT
Iraqi Police Men
Who have done their part

The American Soldiers
Honored them today
For the hero's that they are
So I felt I should join in

Believe it or not
The Iraqi's are jumping in
Fighting their own battle's
Heads high and proud men

I salute what they have become
So many have done a great job
So pray for them and honor them
For they can bring our soldiers home

Because without them
This war will be lost
I want them to know
That I am proud of them

I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I see the Iraqi Army and Police stepping up every day. There is still a few problems here and there, but for the most part they are doing a great job. I'm glad to call the soldiers.

    This was such a wonderful tribute to the Iraqi Army and Police. You have done a great job here, not only in letting people know how its going over there, but in your poetry too. It had a great flow and feel to it. Great work.

    Wow, I am a bit relieved that you can see some light at the end of such a bleak part of world history. It is especially great for me to know that Iraqi police are really going it seems beyond a call for duty. I have read about some of the police over there doing some horrible things to ordinary Iraqi civilians, but then I guess that really still happens all over the world and more here in the states than in other countries. But your freewrite has definitely subtley calmed me for the moment. I have read and heard the british are pulling out and of course someday we wil too. But it is really good to hear the Iraqi's are taking matters about themselves more into their own hands. You take care and please stay safe. I have said a few prayers for you and know you will be back hopefully very soon!!! Your a Credit to Humanity in many ways just for being apart of trying to bring peace. Take care and Bless You!!!

    Charlie this is wonderful news,A breathe of sunshine where all you ever here is negative. It is wonderful that you give them credit they deserve. I remember reading one of your poems about when the Iraq people voted for the first time, they showed than that they wanted peace and freedom for all citizens. Now they are showing they are not afraid to stand up and back their own desires. Thanks for giving light to the positive side..Where very little is given..Wonderful!!1
