Dark Sonnet of Hunger

Nymphomaniac pressed against canvass.
Naked as blue jay; nest on fruitless limb.
Antiquity's painting-- stark, and ageless.
Hums cold rendition of lover's lost hymn.

Begging persuasion to envelope trust.
Belabored memories tainted then stewed,
Attract sate lyrics from inner-disgust.
Heart plastered external, tends to protrude.

Pleading attention yields futile response;
As if invisible, transparent guise.
Searching for swatches in flagrant nuance-
She wears dark glasses to hide sunken eyes.

Forlorn existence, digressed from pale grief.
If he'd just stroke her, she'd find some relief.

One thing I extremely like here ... is your word usage
    Forlorn, Belabored, protrude
    excellent choice
    I'm quite speechless here
and only good talent in poetry makes that happen
all i gotto say right now is
    Good Luck in the contest

Forlorn existence, digressed from pale grief.
If he'd just stroke her, she'd find some relief.

psst... that was my favourite part

It was well worth the drift through here.. Indeed, we are convinced into instances where ~ the inhale, is as painful as the exhale.. The sharp of double edged blades are nuisance that way, somtimes ~ no?
    Brilliant...

    Excellent!

What an image your first line delivers! Powerful! Almost like a Van Gogh Nude. There is a mischievous vintage quality to the entire sonnet. Very astute in the language usage. This is exceptional work. The iambic flow is almost totally uninterrupted.

"Heart plastered external, tends to protrude."

I can see this heart beating to the sadness of a liturgical drum that you melodically paint with pen poet. This is extremely dark but quite lovely with unrequited desires of love. Beautiful! I wish you the best in this challenge. This is indeed an outstanding work!
