She travelled to meet him,
across sandy terrain.
Expected advances,
she'd try to abstain.
For he was a man,
with wives galore,
this she knew, but,
unfortold, what was in store.
She reached to meet him,
and couldn't find a fault.
He'd prepared a feast,
(but he'd laced it with salt.)
Sheba, she ate the flavoursome food.
Blissfully unaware
of what the king
Solomon, planned to do
He was charming and kind,
A perfect host.
When she was tired,
He showed her where to go.
She had vowed to herself,
that she wouldn't succumb,
but Solomon,
was a sneaky one.
As he showed her, her bed,
he struck up a deal,
he said" If you steal,
from me I will cop a feel."
She went to sleep,
believing this was fair.
Not noticing the water,
he had placed over there.
She woke in the night,
her mouth was so dry.
She noticed the water,
she thought he was kind.
She walked towards
the glass on the floor,
as she took a sip,
he came through the door.
"That water's mine,
that you hold in your hand.
You're stealing the
most precious thing in my land.
Remember the deal?"
Then she agreed
He had her,
they did breed.
Not recognized till later,
What they had done,
they give birth
to a new religion...
RASTAFARI.

Water for WHAT???
Whew!
I don't know if anybody could get away with that! Water to cop a feel - I guess when we now pay for water in our bottles - it works especially now!
And where are these women again???
Very enticing poem - Thanks for your entry into my contest & Good Luck!
