Sometimes I feel broken inside
you're the course of who I am

Things go wrong and perfect is uncertain
We can't fix everything and surely not this.
So if I can give you happiness
even when the pain is to much for me to bear.
Then out of my care for you
I rather die, than to keep you from
living your life and feeling complete in it.

How do you see inside my heart? This is exactly my life at this point...
I waited for over two years for his love; to be with him and still, it isn't enough..he just doesn't love me as his heart is given to another
To say I'm not devastated or that I'm not in pain would be a horrid lie. There are some mornings I just don't care to wake up because I know I will wake up thinking of him and loving him

half of me doesn't want to read anything like this
for fear of finding out what is happening

Dear Joyce,
Reading this made my heart ache, partly because I know how much you care about this great man, and partly because I'm feeling so much the same about another man. When everything that can be said, has been said...and every pathway to each other has been explored, but failed... (Sigh) What more can you do than wish the other the happiness they deserve? Once again, you show the love and grace that comes from loving even after love has failed you. I don't know if that makes sense the way I wrote it, but I've a feeling you will understand what I mean anyway.
This is beautiful and well thought out. It says so much about you and the depths to which you are capable of loving.

Last night after I talk to Rick, I left loving him even more, for the fact that he has been so honest with me, that showed me nothing but respect. I can now call him a true friend, and a friend in him is more than nothing. We left still loving each other, how great is that? So because of all of these things I will always care for the great man. This was hard to write and my heart aches to. But Rick's happiness is worth my hurting heart.

This is sweet, poignant and deeply relatable. I think a lot of people can say they have had a similar experience, though they perhaps would not have put it quite so eloquently. It is amazing what the power of love can make us do, when we love we can sacrifice, stretch higher and dream further than we ever thought possible. Even if you don't get what you want, you can be assured your life will be richer than anyone who chose not to take the risks you did. Just some minor things, and if these were on purpose please ignore this: "a part" instead of "apart", "bear" as opposed to "bare". Thank you so much for sharing, and the very best of luck to you.
