Artist Eyes

Through the eyes of an artist, the world is a canvas,
With dreams of perfection, of style, of skill.
Through the eyes of an artist, perfection's true talent,
A talent of honor, of practice, of will.

The ink stays flowing, the lead keeps sketching,
It's a never-ending love, this vivid fantasy.
The pen stays drawing, the ink keeps splashing,
Artist eyes see differently; to them, the world is art.

Through the eyes of an artist, nature is a painting,
A painting of beauty, of color, of fame.
Through the eyes of an artist, art is a fantasy,
Consisting of glamour, of treasure's sweet name.

The ink stays flowing, the pen keeps sketching,
Through this chrysalis-bound grace, an artist never fails.
The lead stays drawing, the ink keeps splashing,
Artist eyes see differently; to them, life's a canvas.

You repeat these two lines "The ink stays flowing, the lead keeps sketching" and "The lead stays drawing, the ink keeps splashing", and I think they're amazing. I think that, since you're a musician also, it would be interesting to add more stanzas about music as an art form as well, and perhaps come up with a musical equivalant to ink flowing and splashing.

Just a thought...this is excellent. Great work!

Beautiful!! I really love all the imagery in this one! What i really like is how the whole thing kinds of runs in a circle.. it ends where it started, but only after painting a beautiful masterpiece throught your words.. your canvas.. truly inspiring

    Excellent.

Wow, what can I say? This was really good, a great read. It just sums up how the world deserves to be seen, as a place of beauty...
    I especially liked the lines;
"The lead stays drawing, the ink keeps splashing,
Artist eyes see differently; to them, life's a canvas."
    Thanks for sharing.
    Rae.

Aw, this is a very sweet poem; it is greatly different from all the others that were, so far, entered.
The poem has a very uplifting theme and it's even better that you kept your friends in mind.
I absolutely adore the structure. It's just so awesome because you kept everything glued together and were able to fall in the borderline of repetition; not having too much and not making it seem like an after-thought.
I don't know what else to say, this is a pretty splendid poem, and you were able to think outside of the box.
The piece was a pleasure to read and thank you for entering.
