The water of your love cannot clean me of my darkness,
nor can the taste of blood purify my degraded spirit.
Everything I know is gone, except the images in my head,
I am left alone in the cold, frozen by a stare of vanity.
After many years of searching through darkness,
I have found my treasure, but when I open it, only that remains.
When the earth has judged us,
does it not take into account the mountains of tears?
It is not the love that is lost,
but the memories which are at stake, that drives us to fear.

somehow my previous comment was cut off. I said this poem is thought provoking and serves a good purpose - exposing something hidden to the consciousness, and seems like a dream with imagery that tantalizes.

I like it.
and I admire your voice.
It provokes thoughts.
Which is good, I like thinking.
It separates me, from the lifeless drones that make the majorty of the world.
