I've traveled this life,
and I've counted the years.
Through all that strife,
I have countered the tears.
I remember your face,
on the day I fell.
You showed me grace,
when I thought of hell.
Through all life's distaste,
you were my shell.
This time I won't waste,
and I'll no longer ring the bell.
You were my eyes
when I couldn't see.
You showed me the lies
so that I could sleep.
You watched me cry,
and you too did weep.
But when I sigh,
you know how to speak.
You are my best friend,
and I'll always love you.
In the end,
you always know what to do.
When something new begins,
I know it's true.
A happy trend
is set by two.
In your eyes,
where all pain is lost,
I start to realize
Joy is worth the cost.
