Evaporating buds tint soft spring’s light
while lilac waits, and then explodes in style
effusing colors hidden in the white.
I, in the garden, happy is my smile,
inhaling nature’s scents and its sensation
touching my true love’s petals so fragile.
A breeze’s lullaby and soft vibration
is dandling flowers which on branches huddle
and gently kisses wreaths into creation.
Then sudden memories... I need to cuddle...
beneath the lilac’s bush with shadows meeting,
I melt in your embrace, my flesh a puddle,
My pain profound, my lungs a life defeating,
my heart is lonesome, longing, softly beating.

Oh my goodness such beautiful words laced right through this wonderful poetry, tender like a kitten's whisker, almost fragile like china. I do so love this entry! The last two lines blew me away, I read this twice and still wanted more. Very nicely done and thank you for your wonderful entry. Good luck.

very well written -
Kako si Sonja - I really like this poem - - it is so beautiful - again like a song - the rhyme is lovely and the content quite sensual - well very - We have 2 very old purple lilacs they are just coming into bloom - they are beautiful flowers - (is the lilac the national flower of Hrvatska?)we have a big white lilac bush too - it blooms a little later - going to name it "Sonja" - I have a Concord grape vine that derives from a cutting my dad brought from Croatia in 1961. Kisha pada danas - you are a beautiful writer Sonja - will read more of course - Bless God - Tvoj Josip XX

I am glad that you like my poetry and you will really honored me to name your lilac flowers with my name. In Croatia you can see lilacs everywhere, every garden, white and purple. I can't say it is a national flower, but also it could be because in the springtime people always like to arrange their homes with lilacs. I like the scent of lilac very much.

Technically, very well done, in a romantic style. I could even smell the garden...and feel the warmth of the summer day yet there is pain and loss here as well. Greatly enjoyed it. -

Thank you SubmissivelyBound for your time to read and comment my poetry. I am glad you like it.

Sonja, my sweet sister,
This certainly was a wonderful piece you have penned. Your form, this sonnet was wonderfully crafted. The beauty of your words is a refreshing wash to both the eyes and mind of the reader.
You have done a marvelous job penning this piece for this cahllenge. One to be proud of indeed.

Thank you, I tried to make a nice picture and to express some personal feelings, not only to "write" in a form. This one of the hardest I ever wrote.

totally radiant
holy jesus...it's eerie how close this comes o how i felt earlier today, and I thank my lucky stars that you love lilacs and weaved two seemingly different situations together, beautifully, i might add. I had a lovely holiday with 3 lovely ladies of my family clan in mackinaw island not too long ago, even as i type this memories fill my mind, this was a pleasure to read, thank you!

-
Thank you dear rays comment and applause. It was my pleasure to read so nice comment too. No, I never visited USA, but who knows, maybe one day I will visit this great lilac festival too.
~Sonja~ -
I almost forgot to mention, the trip to mackinaw was for a, lilac festival. if you've never been there, well, yea. Lilac bushes, tress, everywhere!!

lilac, for me as well, is the eternal symbol of beauty, fragrance, childhood, longing, resurrection. i grew with lilacs, i left my lilacs behind, the blend of this beauty and this pain so beautifully expressed in this poem that i feel to a certain extent to have hold your hand when you wrote it, or to have been your pen, or paper. some of your expressions powerfully original – evaporating buds, efussing colors hidden in white – this poem has moody feel to it that is unique.

-
Thank you for so nice comment but, hey!..., I am not sure that I would be able to write this way as you said, or maybe I should try?
(...my pen, my paper..) hm, let me think, this is not a theme for this comment
... well, anyhow, I am sending you "five" for this comment.

Lilacs are one of my faves Mum so this painted a beautiful pic in that sense
but I also felt the sadness as I thought of beautiful things that suddenly wither away rapidly with the changing seasons and time. This feels like my emotions lately, rapidly changing from happy to sad and back again....

Many people like lilacs with so many different reasons. Most of them are related to springtime and love. The same is with me. I have a special reason to love lilacs from the time of my childhood, the same as a reason for fresias and violets. You can find lilac in my older poetry too. Thank you for your kind comment and applause.

and romantic Sonja. I like your imagery. It is so pleasant to see.

Dear Jim, it was romantic with the reason and sad with the reason, maybe a bit more sentimental, so...poet's soul...Thank you for comment and applause.
