Dark and lonely,
Trees like ghostly shadows
Outline the streets and avenues
Ghostly and ethereal,
Your branches bow lightly
In the summer you offer us shade
But in the winter,
Your twisted arms
Like ghost gnarled fingers
Laugh, tease, and taunt us,
For you are the master
As you bare your wintry arms,
Offering us no protection
In winter's silent sleep,
And you know all too well
We long to see your branches
Abound with lush green buds and growth,
With lavender lilacs
And we may inhale the heady fragrance of sweet apple blossoms
Captivated and Intoxicated,
By Earth's green beauty
Yet you are still majestic
In your winter's enchantment of grandeur,
As your stark branches tease us
Knowing we will patiently await
For your flowering branches
In sweet anticipation of spring
For God's handiwork ~

One suggestion: 4th last line..either "we will patiently await your flowering branches"..or...
"we patiently wait for your flowering branches"

This is beautiful, I love the winter. I really enjoy this part of the poem: In your winter's enchantment of grandeur,
As your stark branches tease us
Knowing we will patiently await
For your flowering branches
In sweet anticipationof spring
For God's handiwork~
This is simply lovely.

lol this one confused me.

Of course it's okay to enter it. i think it's beautiful. It flowed so well even though it did not rhyme, which is usually hard to do, or at least it is for me. The way you described everything was just so fantastic. I've never seen a true winter, that i can remember anyways. This, along with the featured picture, helped to give me a beautiful picture of it in my head. Great job on this poem. It's gorgeous.
