My Royal Apartments

As CB and YOKEGG I dread sleeping in the stables,
as I know for certain that Yemassee is far too busy
playing practical jokes on Angelica and others in order
to be fulfilling his cleaning duties,
and so here is my request for my bower decorations,
short and succint as they may turn out to be!

If there is a tower apartment left,
I kindly ask that it be reserved for me,
close enough to Yemassee to engage in plotting practical jokes
and also close to Grandpa Hugh so he can better dote upon me

All shall be adorned in black and grey hues,
from the 10-foot ceilings, to the queen-sized bed
with massive amounts of pillows and duvets
to keep me comfortable while wandering in dreamlands far away

For the bathroom, I request black marble floors,
with mirrors all around,
and a large sunken bathtub, complete with jets and bubbles
A small dressing room is all I require
for my jeans, tee-shirts, and sneakers,
for I am not very fussy about attire
Whatever happens to be cleanest and most accessible proves fine

In my sitting room, please provide visitors with
a cornucopia of reading material, fiction and essays alike
and soft background music to create a calming atmosphere
A large fireplace with cushy chairs would complete
the vision of relaxation
Perhaps a piano and guitar could provide some additional entertainment
for those more musically gifted

The kitchen need not be expansive nor expensive,
as all I require is a refrigerator stocked with
lots of green tea and fruits and veggies,
with the occasional ice cream sundae, as a guilty treat

Thank you ever so much for the kind gifts you have provided
and excuse the haphazard nature of this entry,
it is simply a reflection of my life and room as they currently appear

Sounds like a black box Theatre with the black and gray. Love that! Sounds like a comfortable place to enjoy life. Love the bathroom too! A great Bower! Sounds like lots of fun will happen here. I wish you the best in the challenge.

I had a friend in college who painted the bedroom of her apartment completely black...it took her 6 coats of paint to get it back to a "normal" color before she moved out! Your bower sounds very comfy, something I'd like myself. It's also good to know I'm not the only one running around the castle in jeans and t-shirts.

    Good luck and best wishes,
    ~J.

Dear CB and YOKEGG, Marvelous decorations you have chosen, I'd like to visit there sometime if I may.
I've heard of the tricks you all play on each other, it sounds like fun. I think I'll join in too and stir yem up.
you must pop in and visit heath and I for supper and sample my Devonshire tea.
    Hine.

    Very nice and comfy!

Sounds like a nice place to visit (and I would like to live there)! But since that is not an option, I would be pleased to spend some time in your lovely bower (since it appears you have it well stocked for visitors like me). Enjoyed your poem and my visit to your home!

    beautiful

    Dear Castle brat,
Your bower sounds very elegant, the large sunken bath sounds fantastic. Living close to our King will be great for you, and if you and angelica need help with playing tricks on Yem let me know.
I hope you will visit my bower sometimes.
    Jen.

Yes, alas I live in the dungeon (a very UnYemish existence) but I have a catapult and if you leave the window to the tower open, I should be able to manage it. I like that you'll have some fiction to read so that I can drop in when I'm avoiding King Hugh, et al and their crazy notions. Maybe while doting on you, Hugh will also be nice to me...I like attention too!

Did I read ice cream sundaes? You might want to put a lock on your fridge door.

Your apartments sounds simple but comfotable. Any idea how to spice up a dungeon?

I like the simplicity of your tastes in decorating and I see that Hugh is quite agreeable. And in the highest tower, too ... your view of the kingdom will be great. Now if he'll just install a lift for the likes of us old ladies, well for angelica and me anyway, and Queen Edna, too. Otherwise we will need to get an early start with breaks along the way, to visit you.

    Good luck in the contest

    Hi Castle Brat

    Dear Elisa
    YOKEGG and CB
As the King's youngest Grandawter you will have the best of everything coz you know he dotes on you and loves you dearly.
And Yem has gone and hid himself after he cleaned the stables and I was gonna play some great tricks on him!!
Your Bower sounds fantastic, I hope I can come with King Hugh and visit you sometime.
It's good to see an entry from you.

You have thought of everything, Elisa, to make you comfortable during your visits to court. Close to King Hugh and to Yemassee may prove a challenge, but we know that Huguelot can accomodate all of our varied requests.
You are kind to think of reading material and musical instruments for your guests, though you show balance with requests for creature comforts. Good luck!

    My darling Elisa,

As you are quite the youngest of King Hugh's extensive harem,
their Majesties intend to spoil you rotten.
Your t-shirts, jeans and sneakers (though you'll seldom need to wear 'em),
will be cleaned and pressed and aired from top to bottom.

And as for being near the King, you're practicly next door,
and your bower will have an individual tower,
but Sir Yem lives in the dungeons - a good mile away or more
which, to reach, could take you upwards of an hour.

Anyway Queen Edna won't approve your sneaking out at night,
especially if you're just in your nighty
and HoH would certainly not think that it was right
to egg Yem on to anything that's flighty.

Of everything else asked for there is nothing you shall lack
and we've noted your request about the hues
which the King has stipulated are to be in grey and black
including the piano and both loos.

So we hope that you'll be happy here and stay with us a while
and write funny, happy poetry to make Queen Edna smile.

    A brilliantly descriptive entry.
They happen to be out of black and grey toothpaste. Will black be OK to match your black toothbrush?
    Good luck in the contest.
Love, hugs and cuddles, XXX Grandpa King. (Hugh R.)

    Dear YOKEGG,

Thankyou for your entry in this Huguenauties contest.
As I do not own a computer but use Hugh’s from time to time, I have asked Hugh to comment on my behalf on each entry to save my travelling across town each time.
Thankyou for understanding and excusing me.
    Good luck in the contest.
    Love, Heathcote.
