Now I lay me down to sleep,
My eyes will close as I count my sheep,
And the last thoughts of the day enter my brain.
If I were to die tonight,
I would put up no fight.
If I went to heaven,
As I step up to the pearly gates,
I'll look down upon the world that He creates.
I'll look back and smile,
Because I'm not in hell anymore.
I'll smile because I know you'll be inside waiting for me,
And I know you'll be there for my own eyes to see.
If I died and went to heaven, I could see you at last,
We could start over and re-write a new past.
A past that has me with you,
A past that never could come true,
On this earthly hell.
When I get to the gates, to St. Peter I will tell,
That if it turns out you're not in there,
Then please send me to hell.
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I drift away as I count the last sheep.
Please tell me what you think

Jes, you did a wonderful job on this. Best lines-
If I died and went to heaven, I could see you at last,
We could start over and re-write a new past.
A past that has me with you,
A past that never could come true,
On this earthly hell.
