The stars are hard to see.
We look at them together, though.
Maybe that's enough.
The years between us are not few;
I'll die before we're done.
We have us for the present, though.
Maybe that's enough.
The bank owns half of this ol' house,
We can't quite call it ours.
We occupy in comfort, though.
Maybe that's enough.
We have so many things to do!
Will projects never end?
We make some progress daily, though.
Maybe that's enough.
I like to look at you, you know,
Including when you're dressed.
We like the bedroom frolic, too,
And Baby, that's enough!
Author notes
We live in a metro area, so the sky isn't very good for my hobby of astronomy.
My wife is 26 years younger than I.
We have a mortgage, of course. Working on it.
We're converting our two wooded acres to all natural vegetation, and we also have over two dozen "pet" hens, that produce far more eggs than we can eat, and during the summer we raise a couple goats for a BBQ in the fall. We put in a new shed and fenced the back acre, and need to enlarge the shed. And my wife's a painter. So there's a lot of work to do.
