We all know the stories
Where she kisses a frog,
And finds a prince;
Learns of life on two legs
When she's born with fins;
Is treated a slave
When the magic begins.
Well here is a story
Of a girl like the rest
Quite beautiful of course,
Brown hair and pale breast.
She smiles, dances, reads,
She's a beauty on a quest
The problem is her father,
They all call him insane
He builds things all day,
Inventions, his only domain
He loves his daughter
But his debt is her bane.
Elsewhere in the kingdom
Down the road through the trees
Lives a rich young man with a curse,
He's now a beast (one with fleas).
And only with true love
Will he live again in ease.
So this girl, this beauty
Ventures down the dark road
To negotiate for her father
At the princes beatly abode.
They haggle and bargain for days
'Till her virginity was bestowed
She hoped that with time
He would show true emotion
But he only cared for her in bed,
His vanity was his devotion
But the heroine isn't dull
And one night slipped him a potion.
She snuck back to the town
And stood on her porch
She called all the town to listen,
They all brough pitchforks, and a torch
She told them her gastly tale
And they had a monster to scorch
She went back alone
To make sure he had no warning
Even though she was sure,
He'd be out until morning.
But he was actually awake
And killed her without mourning.
The town all got there
To find a prince, not a beast
He had found his true love
in his reflection; he was released.
Not a soul though of beauty again
For they were met with a great feast
The moral of the story, friends
Is never try to change a man
Because they know what makes you tick
And they'll do all they can
To take you for what you're worth
And get rid of you, your life, your clan.
