Waiting to Exhale

Missing image
I am waiting to exhale
Not ready to release you
I find you in my thoughts
More than I want you there
Sustaining in the shadows
Living with the moments that
have created the “US” that I crave
I have no right to love you
you have no right to love me
but love we do
Forbidden love, so bittersweet
Perched on pedestals
we adore what we create in the hours
of sweet intoxication
Through your loving
existing and nonexistence merge
Lover and loving have become inseparable
How do we walk away?

a modern tale of Romeo & Juliet...

Sometimes, the hardest thing to do is to walk away from the one you love the most. It's forbidden love that tears at your soul as if it were frail parchment.

Oh my, this is wonderful! Technically the work is sound regarding the free style structure and the flow. Your choice of words lends an in-depth description of the image. This was both good and bad for me as I am going through that same indecisive turmoil in my life right now. Well done my friend.

    Love, Amera
