There was silence when we kissed,
Silence between us,
Nothing but tenderness and passion,
Just you and me,
And the deafening quiet.
There is silence now,
When we pass in the halls,
A painful glance,
Not a word spoken between us,
To fill the endless space.
There will be silence too,
Far from today,
Be it in passion, hate, or death,
No matter what, I will cry,
As I have cried, and do cry.
For the silence has meant so much,
Passion, hunger, jealousy and lust,
So much between us,
Without a word being said.

I loved this poem and how you show the cycle of love and how the meaning of it changes throughout the relationship and how silence is always such a powerful emotion; sometimes painful, sometimes tender.
There are so many truths in this poem and your story was well told!
