Go Where The Love Is

Missing image
What can I learn
From this puzzle called, ME?
The lessons today shining from my eyes
Were in no way not free.
You looked inside and liked
What you couldn’t see.
My heart smelled like fruit
From a poisonous tree.

But you came anyway
You ate lunch with me.
Your hugs lifted my heart
To the highest degree.
You shook my hand and
Smiled a solemn decree.
You said, “Keep coming back,
My new adoptee"

You showed me fine love
Where others stabbed at me.
Gifts you showered on me
While others wouldn’t have me.
They told me my very soul
Required plastic surgery.
But you would never sell me
Not even for a gold-plated Emmy.

You planted two seeds
Called your eyes in my head.
They grew and showed me
The way to be free and carry my bed.
Unlocking the forgiveness in my heart
Where I had hardly dared to dread.
Your gentle spirit removed
That awful & foul dragons’ head

But then a miraculous thought
Raised me up from the dead.
‘A profound alteration in my reaction’
Is what that light-bulb voice said.
My disease of perception
Had thrown me heals over head.
God’s toe-line replaced
That evil & corrosive thread

And I know where to go
When I want my hearts' poem read.
I’ll share that heart
Where I know I’ll be fed.
The end was near
and yet now is only far.
Knock on this door, sister;
Look in, see The Great North Star

Like the phatom of the opera he so wished to be loved. But was terrified of his looks and hide behind his mask and loved from afar. The words you wrote "Unlocking the forgiveness in my heart Where I had hardly dared to dread", I have been there myself. Had to put the pieces of my life back together. Only few people ever inspire us to do so. It is for those that we owe our greatest debt. Thank you for sharing. ~Sie

This is a beautiful tribute to one who has seemingly lifted your spirits and showed you that you are worthy of praise and compassion...people such as these are far and few indeed and to pay tribute to one that has touched your life is a beautiful geture

    These lines were beautiful

    You looked inside and liked
    What you couldn’t see.
    My heart smelled like fruit
    From a poisonous tree.

It is funny how we can think ill of ourselves and then there is someone who sees only beauty...I do believe we are all worthy of anothers love no matter how we feel of ourselves

    Beautiful poem this was
