You are not gone

Your smile lit up darkest days,
Your laughter filled the air, a singing sunlight;
reverberate through darkened moods,
‘til mirth gained its companions.
And then, if you looked extremly closely,
and kept very, very quiet,
see the friendship fairies dance,
twirl and spin in sunbeams of
sweet charisma

You were never alone;
everyone and everything was your friend;
you held nothing back
Nobody was too far away for you think about
too cold for you to hug
or too sad for you to brighten with a smile
You filled my mind,
You raised me up where rainbows fly,
and you were never too busy
just to be there.

And now you’re gone,
snatched away, like a seed in the wind,
gone to replant elsewhere.
You knew it was inevitable,
and that your light would soon burn out,
that your curtains of life,
would soon draw to a close.
But in the end
all you wanted to do,
was make it easier for those you would leave behind
to cope with your loss.
You were the beautiful and brave,
Fighting ‘til the end,
And proving to the world
That you would never give up.

Now, when I think of you,
I smile,
Like you did, so many times before,
And your memory is honoured

Inside forever you reside,
Your sweet memory,
steals into my thoughts
like a gentle fragrance,
You whisper secrets in my ear,
through the gentle breeze that
plays around the rooftops,
And when darkness has fallen,
you are the soft starlight
that soothes away my worries,

When I remember,
You are not gone; you live forever.

This is absolutely beautiful and such a wonderful tribute. It's a bit long and wordy for what we are looking for... but I could see you being published. You have a wonderful heart. Thank you for sharing.

This is terribly heartbreaking. There's beauty in the imagery with this piece, which is a wonderful thing to see. What a beautiful tribute to a friend who has passed away; true caring is shown, because you're able to remember the bright times when she was alive rather than the sadness that her passing away had caused.
The metaphors were perfect in this piece. Every details stands out to the reader, and congratulations on the gold- this piece is definitely deserving.
I like how, in the beginning you talk about sunlight, then towards the end, you cite starlight. I think that, not only does that add an amazing quality to the piece, it shows that this poem was well thought out and constructed.
    Great job.

This is again, a sweeter way, not about the sorrow of a memory when a person leaves, but about the joy of their memory, showing true mourning for the loss, cause more often than not when we're so sad someone leaves, it's not for them, but for our own personal loss. So when we can show that we're able to smile over the memories and not cry over death, that's a true friend.
Again, the poem was beautiful, i liked the fairies of friendship part ^^
    GREAT job
    diggin it majorly

wow that was really touching. well done.
    I especially like these lines:

Nobody was too far away for you think about
    to cold for you hug
or too sad for you to furnish with a smile
    You filled my mind,
You raised me up where rainbows fly,
    and were never to busy
    just to be there.

just one thing in verse two at the end I think it's meant to be "and were never too busy" not "and were never to busy".

    A great write well done
