I was sad one day but then
a surprise came in the mail!
I ripped open the little package with holes
and inside was a cure little puppy,
Her fur so soft and borwn and cuddly cute
I decided to call her Honey
As Honey grew, so did I
I was 16 by the time she was 5
I could not believe I would go soon
off to college but I knew I'd never leave her behind
Anywhere I would go
she would follow me so
I knew she loved me and I returned
that to her every day
All my family and friends saw this
and were happy but surprised
"It's like shes you"
they'd say to me all the time
I would just laugh and
put them off a bit
But then I realized something;
Honey was not my only dog
She was my friend
and as a friend she loved me
And cared for me as if
yes, as if she were human
To me that is what she is
my dog is my bestest friend and I know that in the end
Everything in the whole wide world
will be fine again, as long as you've got a friend

Yes, I really have a dog named Honey. How I "recieved| her i a "box" is not true but she is my friend and I love her. Thanks for the comment

so cute
This is so sweet. Do you really have a dog called Honey? That is so cute that you wrote this for her. You should read it for her. LOL I think that pets are an important part of the family and should be honoured in poetry too. Nice work! -
