Dwell on how else things could have been.
How I wish I could of had
more fun with you.
That our daughters, (my sisters)
could have known you the way I did.
That they could remember the fun and beautiful you,
before that horrible disease arrived.
So frail you are these days,
like porcelain.
Please don't clean the bathroom...
Or we may end up at the hospital again.
I'm grateful you're still here,
defying all that the doctors said.
The morphine keeps you moving,
but it messes up your head.
Everyday is a blessing,
I know that with my heart.
Though I wish we could have gone on a holiday together,
Or could talk about my childhood memories.
Sometimes I cant help but cry,
Because I love you so.
The new you is all we've got now,
The old you had to go.
I know it's cold today Mother,
So don't you move too fast...
In my smile I hide,
How much your pain hurts my heart.
I want to mother you,
To protect you,
To save you.

Author notes
This was written for my mother. Who has severe osteoperosis and uses prescribed morphine everyday just to function like a normal person... I have wanted to write about her for a long time. I just wanted it to be worded in a way that not only expresses how I feel but that would also cause her no disrespect. I hope this piece does just that

A overwhelming write so deep
Wow first of all I say a prayer for your mom so God will have her in his graces always and for ever. You write is so heartfelt and sad. And it really touched my heart. I felt the love you have for your mother. She must be so proud to have an amazing daughter like you. I know your words make me proud to know such a loving person like you. My God always keep you in his graces always and forever (Lisa)
