The Testament

Do you remember when I held your hand?
What it felt like, to relieve the corpses of all my past mistakes?
To take a breath and make my heart beat
Faster than you could ever feel it.
I think I could write this better then we could have ever dreamed.
But I’ll take that chance and let Christ compel this pen.

Well you’re the dreamer and we’re just the dream.
Sometimes it’s a nightmare,
Sometimes it’s a bedside scene.
Please take this chance, babe, because you’re just what I need.
I say prayer and that’s just what I mean.
Kneeling before the alter
Would you please take this ring?

My words, my heart is my faith.
Read my scripture because there the notes that you sent me.
Take a cross and nail back my hands
Because I’m here to take back your sins.
Congregation rise, she’s the script and I’m the preacher.
Time to sing from the book, verse 16 about forever
And that’s you and me.

Turn to Marriage twenty thirteen and follow the passage as I read
“As we lay back in the confession booth but we won’t repent… for
Passing through the corridors of our church
Onto the alter.
Would you please take this ring?"

What's forever mine is forever yours, in love and in health,
Do you remember when I asked your hand?
If only you knew how much this ment to me.
To take this chance, love, because your all that I need.
