apple tree

draped on powdered branches
                forget-me-nots tied
                  with cherry stalks
                                          drying in the breeze

                  apple trees with limbs like
                  dead spider legs
                stand
                helplessly scratching sky
                lifelessly breathing dust

                                  time is an apple

                  round as melting stars
                        hung through midnight voices
                    slowly
                turning brown

                          open-palm memories
                      free-wheel in silence

                  like fairy-tale flora
                  falling through hours

                  hushing
                  the whispers of
                            snow-covered past.

I am one for the form I like spacing and this was just so pretty and tasty. I can see where the sadness is in this but the luscious nature of it overtakes it I feel. No matter, I love it.

    Wow.

I'm not much for the form, but I'll tell you now, it's the imagery that got me. It flowed well for the most part, and it was very original. No one else used that line, and I'm really glad someone had. I was interested to see what people could make of it.

Your very creative! My favorite lines were here:

    draped on powdered branches
    forget-me-nots tied
    with cherry stalks
    drying in the breeze

    A very strong opening.

    Great job, and good luck.
