Aphrodity Lives

What if we looked the same
All beautiful in one way
Male and female different
But both perfect in our own way

What if Someone came along
With a different look
We might find them plain today
But in this world a stunning beauty

For lack of a better name
I'll call her Aphrodity
Because it was our difference
That the Gods of ole so loved

We weren't the perfect beings
That they had all become
Though they were beautiful to us
To themselves they looked the same

So remember we all have beauty
Though different to different eyes
We all bring something special
And live Aphrodity lives

Author notes

From a story, The gods fellin love with humans because we were so different, They were so use to the beauty they so in each other, that our plainess was over welming to them. So they sent Aphrodite to rain in the men, And Apollo to rein in the Ladies.

    Wonderful.

Hello Charlie, Your poem was very thoughtful. There is entirely too much emphasis on youth and beauty in our society today. More so then ever before. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And the greatest beauty does shine from within. A beautiful write and a pleasure to read. You take care and many blessings. You are always in my prayers my friend. Sandy

this is very well written story about aphrodite... one I hadn't heard in my studies of greek mythology and astrology, not that of the God's sending Aphrodite for the men, and Apollo for the women... very interesting.. I do like the message that is put into the last stanza... just the last line, seems it a little confusing.... nicely expressed, well done!!

AH and the gods must have been crazy to mix it up with the mere earthlings yeah they sure got the short end of the stick. Unlike your words which paint a picture full of images and thought provoking ideas. No wonder we ended up where or how we have with all these godly ideas running around in our heads from having all that godly dna mixed with our lesser own. This a great write a pleasure to read and yes I have enjoyed it ... thank you .

    excellent

Very beautiful, I love the way you incorporated the tale of the Gods to bring such a beautiful write. The name Aphrodity is so pretty that it gives a special feel to the beauty that we each hold. Wonderful write and very enjoyable read.
