Circumstantial Hate

From the nights when we first met,
To the afternoons, when we decided what's legal,
To our conversations on the phone,
Whenever I talk to you,
Even though nobody is around me,
I don't feel alone.
You make me feel different,
When I talk to you, I'm not just a drone.
I'm not just another kid who rebelled against the system,
It's one of those things I love about you (there's too many to list em).

When we talk, no matter how far away you are,
I always feel as if I can reach up and grab a star,
Or write a poem with a cliché' rhyme scheme. Car.
"So close, no matter how far".

But putting all that aside, I hate you.
I hate you because I long to see you with my own eyes,
I long to talk to you without the aid of a telephone,
And I wish we could hang out when I'm alone.

I hate you because you're so far away,
And I hate you because I could visit, but I never could stay.
But most of all I hate myself,
Because I know it was meant to be this way.

Please tell me what you think
