Beauty Rained

Beauty rained from pale blue eyes,
As her innocence was stolen.
Darkness comes, none to soon,
To the puffy and the swollen.

Beaten with a long horse whip,
Her little body could not bear.
Father why must you hurt me,
Father, why don't you care.

Young and defenseless,
Was to be her only stand.
Tiny fist don't hurt much,
To a bully of a man.

    wow

I have to say, this doesn't exactly fall into the category of true love, but honestly, this made me tear up! This poem has potential and I want to wish you the best of luck in this contest!
