Well I started as a daisy
But things got out of hand.
I changed my mind comletely
Thought I might be something grand.
Perhaps a lilac or a fuschia,
Or maybe an arum lilly
But things got kind`a crazy
And I grew up looking silly.
I have the colours of a rainbow
Only my stem is green
Just think of what I might have grown
Instead of an has-been.
But the bumble bees all love me
They come and take my honey
Shake their heads in mystery
Think me kind`a funny.
I stand out like a beacon
Not difficult to sight.
They can still home in on me
In the fading light.
So when I start to wither
And look like I am dying,
I`ve had a happy useful life
So don`t just stand there cryin`

BRAVO!
WOW! I just adored this poem completely. I was simply awesome and it just drew me in from the first stanza. It's funny how something so unsual as a multicolored daisy could turn out so lovely. Best wishes for the contest.
