My last day on earth,
Wouldn't be spent with those I care,
For they have long since gone,
Claimed by the shadow I will become,
He wasn't here to save us,
Like he said he would,
It was all too good too be true,
Just a foolish story,
Now I sit and watch,
The world of ruin before me,
I tried to save them,
Yet no one listens to those they think insane,
I've lived too long and seen too much,
I have no tears left to cry,
I've seen the world crumble,
Destroyed by it's own children,
Time is but a theory,
Death is but a stone,
Life is but a journey,
Nothing lasts forever,
I shall not spend my last moments,
Doing foolish things,
Instead I think I'll take the time,
To watch one last sunset,
To take one last breath,
I'm not afraid to die,
For all journey's must end,
All stones are hard yet not immortal,
And all theories are meant to be disproven,
My life is done,
Nothing I regret,
Tomorrow has not yet come,
So I think I'll live today.
Author notes
Not sure if it makes sense or is what you asked for. But it's one of my profound moments in my 15 years of life.
Please comment on anything I could improve on.

this is extremely powerful
and it flows superbly
i like how honest it is, making it profoud and relateable, in many senses. the ending is to the point, and hardhitting, tying up the poem excellently.
'For all journey's must end,' - should be 'journeys'.
thank you for entering
& best of luck
