A Hole

I should dig a hole
deep enough to stand in
let my hair grow
and pretend it's the grass
play a new role
of someone just planted
deep in the hole
as people surpass

I watch with brown eyes
brown as the dirt
with which they are level
with which they are hurt
but I keep my guise
I cannot revert
for now I do revel
in line with the dirt

I'm digging a hole
just deep enough
that my head is level
with the grass in the rough
playing a new role
of someone stuck
somewhat of a rebel
ideas loud enough

Watching with brown eyes
the color of the dirt
with which they are level
with which they are hurt
I keep my guise
no way to revert
now I do revel
in line with the dirt

I dug a hole
just my head sticks out
my hair has grown long
like grass no doubt
still playing my role
still willing to sprout
out come new songs
in underground shouts

I watched with brown eyes
the color of dirt
with which they were level
and which they were hurt
but kept is my guise
can not revert
for too long I've reveled
in line with the dirt

Author notes

I didn't bother with grammar this time, which I usually do. it's just a simple poem about an interesting idea
