"Look at the pretty horsey!" said the young girl. "He's so pretty!"
"No!" said mom. "That is not a horsey. He is neither pretty nor safe."
"But he has such a nice smile. Can I pat him?"
"Even if he likes you, the slightest movement can result in broken bones and deep cuts. It is not safe to view him from any distance."
"Don't you think he is beautiful?"
"Oh yes! But, beautiful can be the scariest thing sometimes. Many have pet him and sat on his back while he was asleep. But, he always wakes up. When he does, there is no time to prepare. You are face to face with a white dragon. Don't you understand what that means?"
"No. What does that mean?"
"It means you must be ready to be a dragon rider. To ride to freedom. If you do not want freedom, then you do not want to be anywhere near the dragon. He will drop you to the ground from wherever he is."
"I want to go home now."
"Good."

Isn't That
The way of the world? smile... "I want to go home, now"... Where are the brave-hearted?
Your Author's note...said as much or more than the poem. (Ingenious)

Bring it on!
Hon, there is nothing like the freedom of living! To truly live is to slide into the grave kicking, screaming and exhausted. To love, feel, touch others and to leave your own mark on the world in whatever way is yours. So bring on the white dragon! I also await its bite and the ride that comes with it. Wanna share that ride?

Intriging !!!
It was brilliantly done, the message between the lines are so clear it can bite you any second...
I don't want to go home though...What is the fun of life, if you are scared of everything?
Keep on writing, dear friend, you are talented...

Oh, I hope I get bitten any second. No need to go home now, the dragon can take you there. It is, however, the other home...

I'm staying then...

Profound! My mom should have taught me to ride the dragon. In retrospect I think I my be the Dragon, someone’s been riding me. I’m not complaining.

Whatever you mom DID teach you seems to be doing the trick. I wouldn't change a thing. As for you being ridden, OMG that sounds like fun. Thanks for the bunnies.

fear is paralyzing...complacency mediocre living ,
even if you fall , just having the courage to take a chance is better than not trying at all..and if truth be known I will not fall... -
Courage...
Courage to cross the line, accountability to the action that was CAN take. I want to ride the DRAGON... If I fall, get up again... and again... For as I say... I live my life in the pursuit of happiness… with ONE thing driving me… PERSISTENCE.
Great poem my friend... Off to woo the dragon!

I am the dragon, my friend. You are welcome to ride, but know one thing, I pursue the eagle, and I will not stop for anything. There is no turning back once you are off the ground, only dipping to gather other passengers. It is a lifetime ride, so buckle up.
