I carried a fever
infecting all I contacted
in between coughdrop smiles
I spread the illness
immense panic spread
in the town I lived
I watched as the disease consumed
inhabitants of the land
I am hardly to blame for this
incurable virus awakening
I am only the messenger, I claim
ingeniously protected

Ha, I didn't realize that every line starts with I until I went and read the option from the contest. I'm not thinking today

I liked the first stanza a lot, and the other two were kinda... blah. But whatever. -
This is my favorite stanza:
"I am hardly to blame for this
incurable virus awakening
I am only the messenger, I claim
ingeniously protected"
It speaks for it's self, the whole piece does really, but those lines stand out...Especially "I am only the messenger, I claim ingeniously protected." I fuckin' love it
