Burial Myrrh




Look into these light blue eyes
Lean in toward these luscious lips
Closer now there’s a wondrous prize
Touch these lips feel her eclipse

Close your eyes take deep breaths
Her scent holds you in sway
Feel the horror of her deaths
Careful you are her prey

It’s too late to look away
You now belong to her
You now smell her decay
Covered with burial myrrh

The love you feel is deadly
Don’t make another foot fall
Listen to the medley
She holds you now in thrall

Such beauty from the darkness
Brings light into the night
Immortal life you’ll now possess
You’ve been touched by her awful blight

    Not the first poem I thought I would comment on, but this certainly was something different !!!
    I love the sense of security that you feel at the beginning and then the seductive powers that pull you in basically to discover she is the complete opposite of what you first imagined !!
