It is dark in here.
How long have we hung our heads?
It is quiet here;
the shrieking children
tumble in the rose garden
but the windows are shut tight,
and we turn our heads away.

This is a short but powerful take on the prompt you chose. I like how this seems to have some hidden meanings, and it could be interpreted in many different ways. Nice job, and thanks for entering my contest. Blessings, Patty

Very nice. What I got out of this was that the problems of the individuals are seemingly more important than anything going on in the outside world, which is both necessary for true reflection, and a bit self-centered if done too much. This poem could represent a lot of different problems in the reader's personal life or their society. Beautiful words and a beautiful message in just a few short lines. I really enjoyed reading this.
