Before I wake

If I should die before I wake,
I wouldn't feel a thing at all.
I wonder if you would?
Hollow, the bell tolls,
My sallow soul to take.
Do you miss me now that I've gone?
Days maybe a week or more
But life butts in line
Pushing your tears aside
Easy it comes easy it goes
Now lay your head down to sleep
Gotta get ahead, gotta pay the man
Your soul traded for what you can't keep.
Loving a wild one gave you what you needed
For a moment, for a sunny bit of time
But thrown aside for a shinier model
God, she's just 18, 21 wasn't young enough?
Your wife and kids adore you
You're the pillar of a gated community
I don't miss a pompous thing about you
Arrogance laid down with me to sleep
Every night you came to stay
If you should die before you wake
I wouldn't feel a thing at all.

weepinly felt of love though arrogant lost

your words speak of te love but also the arrogance that was shared and the fact that it is not missed by someone as loving and passionate as yourself is a tribute to your personality I sincerely felt the agony within the imagery that you have written within this piece ,,,blessings of life,light,love....Fire Storm

Oh, I can feel this one immensely....
I can see the reference you are [metaphorically] making... Yes you would be missed .... No doubt..

A very deeply seated and emotional poem darl.
Glad you shared it with me...
