I took an Oath on a bright young star
That crossed the sky at midnight
That I would not let you in
And then I swore by Orion’s Belt
And the purplish haze of the Nebula
I would not let it begin again
I chanced upon the Pleiades
The white hot young pearls
Boast of the winter skies
I would not come undone
And so my precious woman
Your enchanting soul has
The power to overcome
Weight times greater than the Sun
Deny a Cosmic gravity greater than
The hold of all of this earth on my poor heart
Or the power to roll in the tides
And back to where it had begun
And still you stand and ask...am I lovely?
Are you not a fountain of ancient glows
Of things and time before the seas began to roll...
To my eyes you are the Heavens in a wine glass
And my lips are just a poor beggar …
So take my hand and share this walk
In our own little garden of eternity
For a thought may live just as light from a star
And my thoughts tonight are all for you

Ok now you are a greeting card writer aren't you? lol For words like this cannot spring from the soul of a man who seems to struggle with identity of love. This is a man who has experienced it deeply.
