Our Bower

Our Bower.

We like the rustic look in our en suite
with pink upon the walls with panels white
a place to rest where Heath and I can meet
to spend some time alone once more at night.

A bed is all we need to rest our head
no choice for glamour plain is what we need,
no fancy carpets on the floor, instead
a polished floor with rug we have decreed.

We snuggle close together beneath the covers
as quiet the castle comes as day is ending
and Heath tells me he loves me like no others
as we drift off to sleep our bodies blending

Our sitting room is plain as well you see
a place to sit and snuggle when we kiss
a fire lit in the hearth for Heath and me
with loving looks we share most nights like this.

As friends appear we give each one a smile
so glad they came to share a scone or two.
To see our king and queen for just awhile
it makes our day complete to make a brew.

The king he loves my scones he faves the cheese
our queen the jam and cream are her delight
I make them fresh each day with home grown berries
before retiring they join us here each night.

In our bathroom a bath is what we need
to spend each night together while we sink
beneath the rose petals that we decreed
our maid will place it there each night with a drink.

soft crème we chose to have for bath and walls
a unit to place our toiletries on shelf,
a room for clothes to wear when occasion calls
accessories to match Heath and myself.

Window that faced the garden along one side
a one way glass that lets us see the view
without others seeing nothing inside
and Heath and I love it! wouldn’t you?

    Congratulations!

    Dear Hinemoa,

I hope you received an Emerald Trophy for your poem because you certainly deserved one (and an HONORABLE MENTION)!

    Love and Hugs,
    Maureen

P.S.: If you didn't, it looks to me like you were supposed to get one (since your name is on the list). I'm sure it can be fixed!

Love the Lovers suite. Romance should happen here everyday. Love the "garden window" too. This makes me sigh, it sounds peaceful. Maybe lots of little huguenauties will be conceived here. The best to you in the challenge.

    The Marriage Suite

The marriage suite is best described,
    By your lovely bower,
I would like to live right here,
    With my future lover.

To have a home as comfortable,
    And warm and cozy too,
A place to share my heart and soul,
    After I say "I do".

    Thank you for your rendition,
    Of a beautiful place,
Not too awkward, not too frilly,
    Not too much lace.

    It is simply perfect,
    What more can be said,
A place to rest and relax,
A have a true marriage bed.

      Dear Petra,
it is a very lovely place to rest away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Heath and I are twice as happy spending time there, and it's lovely sitting in our room in the dark with Heath's arms around me watching the stars and lights at night from our window.
My wish for you one day is to find the kind of peace and contentment Heath and I have. I believe it will happen when the time is right.
      Love Hine.

Awww, what a perfect romantic get-away for the two of you. I've heard it said that those who live in glass houses must dress in the basement. Guess whoever said that didn't think about the one-way, mirrored glass.

A wonderful write, very enjoyable to read. Good luck and best wishes!

      Dear Elisa,
Come in to visit anytime, I make great scones.
Pop in and I'll show you the mirror window, it's magical, during the day we can see the beautiful gardens and people walking by, and at night the lights and the stars look so pretty, you'll love it.

I would indeed love it...maybe not the sleeping with Heath part. Yes, I'd love it, but I live in the dungeon and anything would look good.

Ah, the high life...you have a bed! I sleep amongst the potato peels and coffee grounds...

    feel bad for me yet?

    It sounds lovely, romantic indeed.

AWWWWWWWW Yem, do you really sleep in the dungeons? Won't the King give you your own Bower? Or is it your choice to live that way?
Our Bower will be fantastic, do drop by and visit us, I always have fresh scones with Jam and cream made.
      Hine.

This is a romantic retreat for you and your honey, all conducive to a good night's "rest". The verse reads easily and well, with plenty of imagery and pleasant connotations. Good luck!

Do you like the idea of the mirrored windows? it comes in handy when Heath begins to get amorous which is quite often.
Do come by and visit Heath and I, maybe we can have some pictures taken together, now wouldn't that be something.

    Dear MASACCS

Thankyou for your entry in this Huguenauties contest.
As I do not own a computer but use Hugh’s from time to time, I have asked Hugh to comment on my behalf on each entry to save my travelling across town each time.
Thankyou for understanding and excusing me.
    Good luck in the contest.

    WOO HOO!

    Dear Hine,
Well, a Bower is certainly better than the dungeons and stables. Knowing you and Heath as I do, I bet you both spend more time in the bedroom than anywhere else. And WOW! with a window like that, I'd be in my birhday suit too!
Love the way you want your Bower.

    Dear Hinemoa,

Your poem paints a picture of delight
the comfort shared by lovers who are wed
and Heathcote and yourself have 'done things right'
so you're entitled to a double bed.

I see you want a bath and not a shower
and all the other details you've decreed
will duly be installed within your bower
along with any other things you need.

Your bower will have a window facing West
from which the garden will appear full view.
The King wants both of you to have the best
and hopes he'll always get a scone or two.

You're situated on the second floor
just let Us know if you want any more.

Thank you for your lovely entry and good luck in the contest.
Love and hugs, XXX Hugh R.

      Thankyou Babe,
AHHH you know Heath and I will love our bower, it wouldn't matter where we were as long as we're together, except for the stables and dungeons, the dungeons and stables are fine for a bit of fun when we were single but not to live.
      Love Hine.
