Muslim Husband Oath

Muslim Husband Oath

By Allah, I surrender to do right
to embrace you as mine every night.
No coercion rules our family
as we pray together in two harmonies.
I respect my polite, modest wife and spouse
who is not enslaved by customs expoused
and who bears children, giving and loving.
You adopt all who deserve your hugging.
I love you, their mum, umm, my lover who
God teaches by Qur'an on what to do.
I see past all last misdeeds or sins
for who hasn't erred, as you know mines when.
Trust God, Allah, Elohiim, God amongst us
to bless both you dear and your husband's lust.

Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari

This is such a beautiful poem. The thoughts here flow so softly and sweetly across the page. It's good to know what you want in a life partner and even better when you find it. Good luck my friend for there is no greater gift than love given unhindered.

Quite a great poem, I like the sense of unity and equality in the poem, and am thankful for yet another poetic interpretation of the faith, I myself am terrible with religous poetry, so I will enjoy the skill vicariously .

    Peace,

It is always interesting to me that people asks what someone 'wants' of their wife or husband, rather than what do they 'need' of such. I think it is our Western culture where wants are valued far above needs. And that is simply my thoughts on the question my brother was asked and has nothing to do with the superb penning of this poem as it reflects needs as well as wants in a marvelous way and with great feeling and honesty of soul.

    peace
