STARK RAVEN
Nightmare notion of make Believe, to Perch in self conflicted Misery,
Murky souls of a Deceased Love entwined, Visions within a Traumatic Periphary.
Thrown from a Nest of Loyalty to Fly without Wings, the Fall of a Blackened Phoenix,
No Ashes to consume but for a Fire in Hell ignited, Steam rising from below the Bricks.
Blood runs cold in icy veins, arteries vacant of a Heart that vows Vengeance,
Lifeless but for a Life to Give, from the Shadows of Heaven Poe coyly smiles knowing the Crows Penance.
A Dictionarys pages ramble in a Draft, Shelly gives Her Love in a Blown Kiss that stokes Her Lovers Fire,
No Longer Dead inside if not the outside, Madness creeps in to flapping Wings, He follows the Harbinger of Insanitys Flyer.
Death comes as Death does, in sequence of a swollen symphony that makes Chopin take notice from his Grave,
Angel of Death, Angel of Mercy, sLAUGHTER of the Guilty in a shameless gain of hardly a Soul to Save.
Returning Home where His Heart once was to contemplate the Loss of All He lived for, wishing He were truly as Dead as He tried to Be,
White Rose laid between the pages of the Dictionary as a Bookmark, to Live and relive His Life with Shelly.
Each Pages Kiss His New Meaning!
Dearest Diary!

You wrote this beautifully. It is so deep. Some of the lines were completely breathtaking. Greatly penned. Best of luck in the contest!

Oh, my god....Deep! Thats all I'm gonna say.

I don't really know anything about Brandon Lee so many of the references are lost to me, other than him being in the company of other dead artists (specifically writers it seems?). It's hard to get into it when I don't understand it.

Fantastic!
I really, really fell in love with this. The dark words you used built an image, but there was always this certain light about the character. I believe that this is by far the greatest of your works that I have ever read. The others were all so dark, but this one has a sense of purity...and I loved it. Great work, my friend. With this, you came out to be more than a soldier of my soul...you came out being a soldier of my heart as well. I commend you, good poet. God speed towards the gold!

as you know, I don't usually like dark, but this isn't gory and is so full of depth and metaphor, excellent piece
this is my favorite stanza
Death comes as Death does, in sequence of a swollen symphony that makes Chopin take notice from his Grave
