There’s a dam building in the gullies
Eating up the trees of forest
I used love, greenly.
I am no longer innocent.
There is a stone crumbling
Whether it is on purpose
Or by fault, matters not
It seeps, muddy and full of potency
As it builds and burrows through
A hole in the bricks I built myself.
This stone’s for you. If you had a free thumb
You could have staved this wearing away.
You petered out on me.
