My child
You do not know
You cannot know I saw
I saw you stretch out tentatively
Fingers longing to be elsewhere
Do you know how proud I am?
I never see fear as a source for mirth
So serious to you, my dear
How could I laugh at that?
Determination written on your heart
How could I laugh at that?
You still don't know how proud I am.
Author notes
This is based on a real-life fear that I used to have of dogs. I made myself stroke one once, and my dad saw. This is my poem!
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.

Awww very good..
.... You've done an excellent job. Good job on stroking a dog once. And I have to say to accomplish something over a fear is a great thing. I should know I've had many a time where I've had to over come a fear. SO you keep accomplishing that and good luck to you.

Awe, that's really sweet. I like how you took that quote and wrote from a real experience.
Thanks for entering.
