I wonder what I would see if my life flashed before my eyes;
Would it be of merry times or would it be all the lies?
Will I see something profound or will I see my own demise?
I wonder what the flash will bring the second before I die.
I was told in just one second you look throughout your life;
Will I think of my first kiss or the time learned to drive?
Or will think of my addictions and reasons I want to die?
What kind of thoughts will come to mind when there is nothing left to hide?
I also heard that second, the one before you die,
It can last forever until you find what you needed to find;
But what if while I'm searching I take a step out of line?
What if I'm stuck with my demons for the rest of time?
And if I didn't see it coming, if I got shot from behind?
Will I even have a second to see what was "mine"?
Or will it all be lost before I even get to search for the reason "why?"
What if I am without a purpose the moment that I die.
All I have are memories to tell me what I have done,
But which of those memories will be with me the moment I pass on?
Author notes
Last night I was watching the end of a movie, not sure which one, on T.V. and it just made me think.
