Who will love me from the start?
Who knows love and all its art?
Who can stand me when I fart?

Ok, jim, gross but funny!

-

Yes, Roz,
it's gross, I know.
That is why it is funny. You expect a cliché poem, but get this twist at the end, and you burst into laughter more often than not.
Thanks for the comment, and for the applause!

I see I forgot to add ...
gross to the no no's in this contest.
It's clever, but not quite what I was looking for.
-
-
Oh, it wasn't ...
terribly gross, just not really funny to me. Everybody has his or her own ideas about what's funny and what isn't. C'est la vie.
Thanks for entering in any case. There's certainly nothing that says you can't enter another poem you know. -
Ok...
Well, so you feel this is gross, most people found it funny. Sorry if my poem did not hit the funny bone, or tickled the smiling nerves. But thanks for commenting, and thanks for the applause.

I was afraid at first that it became like everything else. But the last line just cracked me up and made it all worth it.
Well done!

I try my best
NOT to be ordinary. I am flattered
that you liked my poem.

You are so funny. I have to ask myself that same question! LOL NOW I understand why every guy I date dumps me! HAHA!

Maybe
they felt flattered?
You know it is true love, when the one you are with stays even if they smell your farts.
Thanks for the comment, and the applause, I appreciate it!

Hahahaha... I was thinking "good, but sort of cliched" and then you goot to the end and I was like "what?"... made me laugh though. It was so unexpected and suddenly you're forced to change between feeling sentimental, etc., to feeling a bit goofed up. Great write. (Hope you remember, by the way, we used to talk a while back). xx

Jenny! (Right?)
I know this was full of cliché, monorhymes are often that, and I normally don't use clichés. This time however it just slipped out, sort of.
I am a spontaneous writer, and when something comes to mind, I just write it down. Always thought that valentine poetry was a little clichéd already anyway.
Thanks for commenting, and thanks for the applause!

Thanks Tory!
I love making people laugh (or cry, feel sad, happy, angry) because strong emotions is what make us content. Thanks for commenting, and thanks for the applause!

The last line was unexpectedly funny, but still it IS important that the person who declares their love for you really does love ALL of you, not just your good points, but can put up with your humanly quirks and embarassing subjects shouldn't be skirted around but addressed directly as you have here.
Only one error- "it's" should be "its" (possessive, not the contraction of "it is" is what I believe you want).
Wise but humorous write! -
-
Thanks!
Silly me didn't see... Typos like that is typical for me, and it's (right this time?) bothering me a lot. I am glad you liked the poem though. Thanks a lot for the comment, and for the heads up!

surprise ending
I enjoyed this little whimsy treat, it read with a startling ending..made me smile...
-
-
Surprise
is the element I was aiming for, throwing the reader off, and hopefully cause an outburst of laughter. Seems it worked perfectly. Valentine's Day should not be taken too serious, it's a day of love, and love is closer to laughter than gloominess.
Thanks for the comment, and the applause!

This valentineay poem is indeed different. I am certain that there were many other rhymes that would fit in place of the last, however they would not have sent the humor you intended. Good luck in the contest.
-
-
Definately
there are other words that could fit in the last line, but you could say that that one just came to me on the wind.
Unfortunately I didn't win anything, but the one hosting the contest put it among the top finalists, and that is something.
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it!

This is really cute! And yes it got a chuckle out of me too!!! I am not very good at humorous writes, but this one is great!!! And two thumbs up to your wife!!! if your farts are anything like my husbands, she deserves it!! LOL.
-
-
Thanks, sunshinegirl!
Glad I could make you chuckle.
I like to see that I can reach the tickly spot of people once in a while. About how bad my flatters are, there are days they are mild compared to hers!
Thanks for the comment, it means a lot to me!

Hi, Reenie!
Pardon my french, so to speak, but a true gentleman appologizes for his flatters, and in that way, I am a true gentleman.

Cute ONE!
True love comes from one who still loves you even when you throw that fart dart. I think it is an adult kind of love.

-
-
Yeah,
you really have to love someone to stand their farts.
Thanks for the comment, and the applauses!

Leave it to you my dear sweet bro, to come up with this gas of a piece.
You did make me laugh and I am still laughing at this one. Did Mon smack you after the fart?
Kudos for a wonderful sense of humor and all my love for you and the family this Valentine's Day. Best wishes in the contest and thank you for sharing with all of us. Keep the gas though.
Love and hugs for you and the family from your sis, Joyce
