My friends said that someday,
someone would write me a song
or unearth a poem, just for me.
I've never once doubted them,
but time is standing still now,
and it feels as though love
is meant for others, not me.
The world is filled with love songs
whose sweet babyfaced, overused words
hide the truth in "baby"s and "yeah"s,
when they mean to say "this won't last".
(Maybe, I'm too cynical,
too afraid, too blind,
to see That Something
that others seem to)
The mirror tells me I'm useless,
the scars laugh and they mock me,
and my often personality changes,
I'm far too complex for commentary.
See, there's a reasoning
behind that infamous line:
"Always the bridesmaid,
never the bride"
(But that's because bridesmaid
didn't try to be the bride -
or, indeed, anything else
than who she'd come to be)

Well, number one, your mirror seems to be a big fat liar, coz mirrors usually tell the truth or at least half of it, this one is not. Number two, do give up on Valentine's Day coz it is just an ordinary day, you are not jusged by how many admirers you have to how many presents you get, but by how you love someone and how that someone loves you back. So ignore Valentine's day, live on and Love will jump out all of a sudden in your face, you will be startled, surprised and speechless

I've always liked your slant rhymes, but nearing the end, it gets a little confusing. Almost turns freestyle. Adverbs in this confuse me... You know what I mean?
