Listen!

Listen, listen, listen to your loved ones,
Listen, to words that pour out in tons.
To the cries,
And try to dry your little ones eyes.
See the ups and downs,
Try to detect the funniest sounds.
From a child's intuition,
Is like sending them on a mission.
Help them through all the stages,
Then, see them find a job for wages.
Comfort them when they get discouraged,
Push them step by step until they get encouraged.
Listen, listen, listen like a dove,
For the words of love and more love.

Alice! I loved the last couplet, it really changed the whole affect of the poem. I liked the almost mothering-feeling of age-old advice and discipline surrounding love. Good write!
