I regret that our lives
extend only beyond a half a dozen decades
It takes so many years, to find our way in life
Thru pain and peril
and countless laughter, we find and form
the measure of our own life’s experiences
I was blessed many times
by the wisdom of giants, found in life
and in the pages of a hundred brilliant books
All this made me aware
of the compelling story we each live
every day of our lives, to become human
If we harbor a soft heart
we will be compelled to reach out to touch
Touch a soul in need of comfort or love
We may become in time
the mirror that confirms ones reflection
saying in words, why we each deserve love
Even in silence
we may give a blessing to a troubled heart
closely holding each word, like a treasure
Moving with them
through a maze of tainted misconceptions
forming a new truth, holding them so close
In our spiritual bond
we may become united and enlightened
traveling together, finding the sunlight above
Walking hand in hand
knowing we never made a word in malice
opening so deep inside, we became like one
Searching our souls
whispering away our tears in private words
sharing the joy we found in a special friend

I have always been told you can count your true friends on one hand. This being said, I would say I agree. We will come across many people in our lives many will have an affect on it, one way or another. For we all come into each others lives for a reason. Yet only a few will be there till the end. We are blessed by all we meet, but the ones who will make a difference are the ones who are "True Blue".
You have penned a beautiful write on the meaning of friendship. The ones who will make a difference. Very loving and very kind. A tribute to all that you call friend.

Pretty hard for you to stay anonymous in one of my contests, I'm afraid. 
Hon, you know you already are my "soul mate" of the friendship kind. Despite our differences, and there are many, I see how our friendship has grown deeper over the months in a way I never expected. I even love all your little quirks and flaws, love that I can be honest with you and not worry that you will think any criticism means I love you any less. You've been such a huge support to me in every way imaginable. I couldn't ask for a better AP husband.

I love the message in this poem. It reflects the striving for perfection, to move towards becoming our perfect self, to be the best that we can be. When we are the best that we are capable of being we bring forth people who are the best for us as well. To bring the best out in others and others that will bring out the best in us. It is so true,I have found since coming on AP there are friends of both gender.It seems we are all reaching out to one another for affirmation,some more than others,to find ourselves and find similarities of interests,and soul talk, that perhaps are not around us to relate in the world we know.It is possible that there are those out there that speak "our language"(that which our soul craves,our interests,and feelings about things)The poem above shows how in giving, we are built up,"We may become in time, the mirror that confirms ones' reflection saying in words, why each deserve love""Whispering away our tears in private words..we found a Special Friend" So much more can be quoted from this poem..Each line has so much depth to it...All one knows is that there are so many that share our interests,feelings,,and we are not alone!
