Slow and steady - I am the earth
That lies beneath your feet
Silent... I can suddenly explode
And then havoc I will wreak.
I am power untold, so fear me now.
Fast and passionate - I am the fire
That burns steady or swift
Sometimes dormant within the earth
I can blaze out through a rift.
I am power untold, so fear me now.
Calm and serene - I am the water
That over the earth does dwell
Than without warming into a storm -
A tempest - I will cruelly swell.
I am power untold, so fear me now.
Still and gentle - I am the air
That unseen gives life to all
Sudden I can turn just as cruel...
I hold you within my thrall.

Together we are life itself

This is a really great poem, the way you've set out each element is fantastic. Your first descriptions "slow and steadt" etc, fit perfectly and your little asides about each natural disaster are expertly done. The last line of each verse caps it off brilliantly and this poem deserves that gold trophy. Well done and take care x
