turn up the volume and listen
to the quiet music that sounds like rain
while your hair falls cold against your naked back
and you wish for just one more of his melancholy smiles
while you miss the way his hands were cold on your shoulderblades
but his mouth was always warm as it passed over your neck
while you remember the look in his eyes as you made love
While you knew that he's wanting her, while having you
and what makes it all the worse is
You love him too much to leave
You cry for him to come back
To be with her while in your arms
So just turn up the volume and listen
to the quiet music that sounds just like the rain
To drown out the sound of the tears falling down
While you wait for him to come so you can be someone else.

Wow, this is really beautiful. I know this exact feeling. Un-reciprocated love can be so hurtful, but love knows no bounds and is utterly uncontrollable.

wow
powerful, powerful write. this is a sad one. i think it's sad how you can love someone so much and yet they love someone else. the worst insult there is. i wish the world weren't like that. guys can be such jerks!

Heh, I like the shape of it too, dearie, glad I'm not the only one.
Sad thought, but I still adore the poem. I like how you tied everything back in after going into detail, nice touch.
Keep it up hun and good luck in the contest.
love you.

A very heartbreaking write,
but so full of truths but we should never ever settle for seconds, real love is worth waiting for,

Ah, so sad and sweet - this story of love is written in a most beautiful way. I'm glad you repeated the first two lines again as they're my favourite lines.
I also love "drown out the sound of the tears falling down" - the internal rhyme is ingeniously written. Amazing flow, that line in particular.
Thanks for featuring.
