Spiraling down the rabid hole
Into dreams of a dark abyss,
Alice slides on without a goal
Into a world she would not miss.
The cat smiles and disappears,
The rabbit's consistently late
And somewhere in the distance she hears
A card searching for her most recent bait
With a bug, high on a shroom
Alice learns the way to toke
She hopes to find peace on the deadly fume
But her future flees, with a puff of smoke.
So then she always believes in what she reads:
Eat me, drink me, shrink and grow.
Just swallow a few more opiate seeds,
You'll sleep again, the truth will show.
And when she finally rolls out of bed
The dreams, the nightmares never do end
The queen demands 'Off with her head'
To anyone that breaks away, all who dare offend
Alice lost her body, her legs, her hands, her arms
And soon like the fading cheshire cat,
She has little left of her girlish charms:
And all that's left is her head, her smile, and her hat.
So the moral of this twisted tale
Of the girl who drowned in dreams,
Is that to try to escape is to no avail:
For nothing is ever as it seems.

I like that you added the catipiller though I'm not fond of the tie into the stanza after that.

I love how its so like the story and all the other twisted versions but its got new ways of saying it. It flows though in a few places it seems forced. I would have loved to see the catipiller in here and I love how you got the rabbit, and cat. Brava
