As you held your child as a baby and thoughts of who this child would become in their future would you have imagine what your child's impact would be.
as you were told of the choice your child made of becoming a soldier what a moment that changes everyone's vision involved with that decision.Maybe you seen the yellow ribbon in a different scheme.Maybe your view of the American flag stay the same but deepen. As you came to terms with the decision knowing where our world stands and not knowing how the unknown will unfold. As you try to be supportive it is a counteract response to what a mother knows to protect your child from danger and now they have chose to join a career that puts them in harms way.The child that stands before you is no longer the child that years prior a kiss would erase the boo boo that they recived but they are an adult now embarking into a career of the unknown. As they embark on their career and recieves orders to go across seas. And you only have a chance to see what a little part of what your child has a vision of everyday from the television. As the worry sits close to your heart waiting for the next call or to recieve a letter from them and your eyes locate the date the letter was written it eases your heart for a moment knowing that your child was safe. And you hope that your prayers are heard and someone is watching your child miles away until they arrive back home.So maybe you never found a cure for a deadly disease or climbed the tallest mountain. But you gave your country the best gift of all a American soldier to stand tall.

Makes You Think
Life changing decision it is indeed, watching your baby walk out of the doors towards the pastures full of bomb clouds pouring the rain of bullets on stranger's lands... mother's instincts kick in to stop but the strenght of a proud mother of soldier calms the nerves and kisses watery bye for a short while until baby is back home safe in her arms.... Be it American or Indian or any soldier, they need to be saluted for we cannot thank enough to mother who had the courage to give the ultimate gift to the country - soldier... I sure couldn't be that mother, don't have the courage or strength to wait for that one phone call... I'm selfish, what else can I say... It's got a beautiful message in teh envelope of a short story scene... I really enjoyed reading... thank you for sharing your talent... take care Minoo

THANK YOU !!!
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart!! As a Proud Mother of a United States Marine.. You have expressed my feelings to a tee. Yes, I do view things much differently and no matter my view on the war .. have a deeper appreciation for what our children and families are sacrificing for our great country.. This brings tears to my eyes as I remember the little blond haired Blue eyed boy that I held some 21 yrs ago and the Man I now Know as MY Marine Son!! God Bless our Troops, and May they come home Soon!! Semperfimom39
