Enticing you was a fool's game
And like a fool I failed,
For from each slimy touch you just recoiled,
And I will never find the love I crave,
You act as though each of my breaths could maim,
As if my body consists of entrails,
All my dreams of love are cruelly spoiled
But to your smooth, sweet voice I am enslaved.
And silly me to think you'd realise
That underneath these warts beats a huge heart,
You see the beauty in the men around you,
You need not look so low to find true love,
So though your words and actions hypnotise,
I just haven't had a hope since the start,
So for now I'm just happy I found you,
I'm beautiful inside: it's not enough.
Author notes
Bufo is the Latin term for "common toad"... so not entirely suitable for a cane toad but meh. It makes a good name, in my opinion.

amazing! o the agony of being rejected by the one you love. always a horrible feeling...but you get used to it. cept then you become a hopeless romantic and you try once and give up instead of persisting. its really becomes a tradgedy. just an awsome piece of work. *kat~~~

Wow...I feel like this sometimes. Like I'm just not good enough for the one I love! Your descriptive imagery is awesome. I really enjoyed reading this. You really dig dep and search for the words you want. I'm impressed.
