The Window

Dark are my thoughts of late
Where no balance is struck
‘tween shadow and light
And dance do the beasts
To music not softly felt

Could this be just a dream
Or might I have found
The window
Opened on
My soul?

this gives me a sense of a carnival atmosphere and how you are caught in the middle of it but that that is somehow stimulating, and for an artist, that's often true.

This is such a very soft piece Rich. It brings to thoughts of an eloquent and traditional poetic voice with the use of 'tween - and some of the structure and flow.

There's a contemplative self inquisition in this piece. This is one of those poems that comes across to us in a gentle sort of voice that leaves us asking how much of it is the poet's real inner voice, and how much of it is the poet looking into what might the universal inner voice we sometimes share.

    Very well done indeed!
