May I walk in it
Walk bathed in it,
O beam of light
Illuminate the narrow Path before me.
May I listen to it
Listen, hear it
Your healing whisper
Guide me "steady on" between the guard rails.
The beam is a beacon
I see mine and mine alone
If my eyes stray off the mark
Into rougher waters I am thrown
I go wandering through fields
The steps I take are my own
My own fault and my own doing
Because the way is clear on this path I have been shown.
The beam is life itself
Strong enough to carry me
I have no excuses for being lost
Within the ray of Light I am truly free.
When I want to take control
Or my stubborn Self tries, in the dark, to see
I stumble, pushed by darker hands
But stronger arms are always there to harbor me.
I pray I seek it
Always seek and find it
The truest course
Illuminated by your healing beam.
I pray I follow it
Follow it and honor it
The Way set forth
To lead me straight and narrow to my waiting home.
